Despite only being in the job for a little over 48 hours since his appointment, the former Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards coach managed to secure victory.

Zdravko Logarušić got off to a winning start as the new Kenya Police FC head coach when the Law Enforcers downed Bidco United 2-0 in an FKFPL match played at the Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Kenya Police drew first blood in the 15th minute when Kenneth Muguna got on the end of a Clinton Kinang’a assist to rapture a shot home.

Bidco should have equalized in the 22nd minute when Sharrif Musa received the ball having moved wide and cut inside, but he sent the ball blazing over the bar.

The home side continued to create a couple of chances from open play, with David Okoth looking the most threatening player and most likely to make it two.

In the 27th minute, he received a well-crafted through pass from Kenneth Muguna, but hit it just wide of the net.

The visitors resorted to trying to create chances from set-piece situations as they could not find a way to threaten Matasi’s net.

Douglas Mokaya attempted to execute a left-footed freekick into the roof of Patrick Matasi’s net, but the Harambee Stars goalkeeper managed to deal with it easily.

They had another chance to equalise when Abud Omar conceded a needless foul near the edge of Police’s box, but Chris Opondo’s resultant freekick was not enough to threaten Matasi.

In the second half, both sides struggled to create chances of any meaningful quality in the opening 20 minutes after the break.

In the 72nd minute, Bidco had the closest of opportunities to restore parity when substitute Eric Michubu got on the end of Opondo’s left footed cross, which forced Patrick Matasi to tip the ball behind for a corner.

Police finally found their second goal in the 86th minute when Clinton Kinanga rose high to connect Alvin Mangeni's cross that sailed past John Otieno.

The victory saw Police bag their first win of the season after five attempts to take their points tally to six.
