It’s Super Sunday across the world not just because it’s Easter as Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, but because there are some interesting super games lined up in world football.

From the English Premier League to the Ligue 1 and here in Nigeria, via the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, it’s super Sunday.

The various leagues are set to take a break for the crucial stages of the Champions League, Europa League and Conference with some delicious battles.

Here are three must-watch matches for you this Easter Sunday as you celebrate with family and friends.

Easily the biggest game of the day in the NPFL today at the Aba Township Stadium in the beautiful city of Aba in Abia state.

Eight-time champions Enyimba will host Plateau United from Jos in a decisive game that can make or mar their super six chances.

Enyimba are looking to return to winning ways.

This Group A clash pits two sides who are on a poor run of form at the moment, especially the home side who has failed to win any of the last four matches in the football league.

The People’s Elephant has lost two and drawn two of the last four, that’s just two points from a possible 12.

Their visitors, United, have fared better but are winless in the last two and conceded four goals in that time.

So, with a lot at stake heading into this tie, both sides will be looking to put an end to their poor run with three points.

But the stakes are against the home side as their visitors are unbeaten in the last four matches against them. Indeed, Finidi George’s men last picked all three points against Plateau two years ago.

After the game in Aba, the Super Sunday train moves to Anfield where Liverpool host Arsenal in the English Premier League.

The league leaders are looking to restore their eight-point lead at the top of the table following Manchester City’s 4-1 win over Southampton on Saturday.

However, Liverpool have the upper hand in terms of their head-to-head, which should give Jurgen Klopp and his Reds hope. But the last time they met, Mikel Arteta’s fearless Gunners ran away with an intense 3-2 win.

It is back in the NPFL for the third must-watch encounter today on Easter Sunday. It is the battle of the stars at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.

The battle of the stars is another encounter that is crucial to both teams, Shooting are looking to avoid a relegation dogfight while Remo are in the super six rat race and will want to take advantage of the game in Aba to sneak back into the top three with a win.

The last time both meet, it was Remo who sealed a 2-0 and are unbeaten in their last five meetings against the Oluyole Warriors.
