Mohamed Salah assisted two goals as Liverpool fought back to beat Wolves at Anfield
Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah reached yet another milestone for the Reds as they came from behind to beat Wolves 3-1 in the first Premier League fixture after the international break.
Salah assisted two of the three of Liverpool’s goals as Cody Gakpo, Andrew Robertson, and Harvey Elliot helped the Reds overturn an early strike by Hwang Hee-Chan.
How it happened
Liverpool looked like they would continue their struggles with the early fixture after Hwang gave Wolves the lead after only seven minutes following a brilliant run from Pedro Neto that left the Reds’ defence in shambles.

Virgil van Dijk has finally responded to the FA's decision to further punish him for his red card against Newcastle United.
Robertson was caught in no man’s land for Hwang’s goal, but he redeemed himself with a goal in the game's dying embers to make it 2-1 to Liverpool.
But not before Cody Gakpo had secured an equaliser for Liverpool that was a carbon copy of Wolves’ opening goal.
Liverpool wrapped up the points thanks to a goal in additional time when Harvey Elliot's shot was deflected into his own goal by Wolves' Hugo Bueno to make it 3-1 to the hosts.
The win sees Liverpool go top of the Premier League provisionally, and the Reds could remain there depending on Manchester City’s result against West Ham.
Man of the Match
Salah was undoubtedly the man of the match, assisting two goals for the Reds to earn his 202nd goal contribution in only 223 games for Liverpool since joining from Roma in 2017.
Salah has now provided 63 assists for his teammates and is only the second player in the Premier League era to have been directly involved in up to 200 goals for Liverpool, the other being Reds legend Steven Gerrard.
