The winger showed his class by scoring both goals as Leicester City saw off Leeds United in a Premier League 2 clash.

Harambee Stars prospect Siliko Amari Thomas delivered a memorable performance netting a crucial brace for Leicester City during their emphatic 2-0 win over Leeds United in the Premier League 2 competition.

The match, held at the LCFC Training Ground, saw the Foxes' young talents bouncing back impressively after their recent setback in the Premier League Cup last-16 clash against Crystal Palace.

Speaking after the match, Thomas shared his thoughts on the team's morale and the significance of this victory.

“Everyone's excited," he revealed. "It's been a long time coming, but we've been focusing on each game and diligently working on areas we need to improve. Thankfully today, we managed to translate our efforts onto the pitch and secure the result we've been striving for."

The young attacker did not shy away from discussing the disappointment following the team's exit from the Premier League Cup, emphasizing the importance of resilience.

“It wasn't the outcome we hoped for, and naturally, we believed we could advance further in the competition. However, we had to face reality, accept the result, and move forward, which we successfully did in today's game,” Thomas stated.

The 19-year-old demonstrated exceptional skill early in the match, breaking the deadlock within the first 15 minutes.

A long pass from goalkeeper Brad Young set Thomas up perfectly to fire Leicester ahead.

His prowess was on full display again as he managed to be in the optimal position to convert Amani Richards’ cross with a first-time finish, marking his second goal of the night.

“When I get the ball, I'm always looking to go towards goal, so once I got that first touch past him, I knew that's where I wanted to go. And then the second one, just reading it and getting on the end of it, that was good," he added.

Despite battling illness in the lead-up to the game, Thomas showcased remarkable determination by starting and playing 80 minutes.

“It was very tough to come out there, but obviously I want to be playing no matter what.So I just thought I’d fight through and help the team get the result," he added.

Thomas whose heritage traces back to Kenya has also represented England at the under-15 and under-18 levels.
