The forward has been out of action since he got injured at the World Cup.

Gabriel Jesus is reportedly in contention to travel with Arsenal to Lisbon, Portugal for their Europa League match on Thursday.

The Gunners are set to take on Sporting Lisbon with Jesus closing in on a return after being out for three months with a knee injury.

The Brazilian has been out since he suffered a knee setback while turning out for the Selecao at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

However, the former Manchester City forward, who has already resumed training, is expected not to play any part in the Round of 16.

The striker is expected to return to action after the international break, and his first game could be against Leeds United at the start of April.

Before Arsenal’s match against Bournemouth, Mikel Arteta gave the latest fitness assessment of the Brazilian, saying: "He's not very close, but he's not far at all."

"He's feeling better every day, and the doctors are confident with the way the injury is evolving. We are in a good place with him, I think.'

"His mentality is incredible, and the team has done a really good job with him to put him in the position he's in today."

The forward’s return will be seen as a big boost for the Gunners, especially in their pursuit of the Premier League title.

Before the injury, he had scored five goals in 14 Premier League games.
