Fans at Kasarani did not hide their frustration, with a section of them even being involved in a heated exchange with the club’s officials following the defeat to KCB.

AFC Leopards coach Tom Juma believes the side must “work hard’ to turn around the fortunes of their new season but also appear to ask for angry fans to be patient with his process.

Leopards lost 1-0 to KCB in their second match of the season, a result that summed up what was a very underwhelming week for Ingwe, who drew 0-0 with FC Talanta in their opening game of the season.

Fans at Kasarani did not hide their frustration, with a section of them even being involved in a heated exchange with the club’s officials following the defeat.

This prompted members of the press to ask him what he would do to please the fans, who have already started showing their impatience just two games into the season.

One fan could be heard shouting, “We were asked to be patient with the young players last season and accept the results. Now we have strengthened the squad and we are still losing!”

In response, Juma told the press: “AFC Leopards is about winning. If you do not win, things like these will happen. These are things we are used to.

“This is just our first loss. How many games did we lose last season? Our first loss results in a lot of pressure, but this is football.

“We just have to keep working hard and then see what will happen.”

Ingwe went through numerous problems after a transfer ban was imposed on them for failing to pay previous head coach Patrick Aussems his wages, which prompted the coach to take the club to FIFA over the matter.

It then imposed a three-window transfer ban on the side, but the ban was lifted after the club, aided by Government support, paid off the coaches’ dues, allowing FIFA to lift the ban.

The club consequently signed 17 new players to boost their season, but the investment has not been reciprocated on the pitch so far this season.

Juma stated that the international break would help the side bond more and forge a stronger unit that will make them achieve more sustainable performances and deliver good results.

Leopards will face Shabana in their third game of the season.
