Palmeiras head coach Abel Ferreira has encouraged Estevao Willian to produce top showing against Chelsea on Friday night.

Palmeiras boss Abel Ferreira has delivered a unique warning to Chelsea regarding new signing Estevao Willian ahead of their Club World Cup clash.

The 18-year-old winger, one of the top performers in the group stage, is set to face his future employers on Friday, playing for Palmeiras until their participation in the tournament concludes.

Ferreira expressed his hope that the teenager would deliver a memorable farewell performance for the Brazilian club.

"Look, I don't speak with him. He knows what he needs to do for tomorrow,” said Ferreira.

"I hope he gives his best for the owners of Chelsea - he has potential and lots of quality. It will be an opportunity for him to show how good he is.

"We helped him to grow as a man, as a professional, it can be a good moment to give him the goodbye with one amazing game. Maybe he can score a goal to say goodbye to our fans.

"We, him and the club - everyone knew this could happen during the negotiations. Everyone knew he could play. So he will do what he does. I don’t have to say anything. He has to do his job. He won’t play alone. Nobody plays alone in my team."

Chelsea secured a deal for Estevao last summer, agreeing to an initial £29 million fee with potential add-ons.

The teenager himself previously stated his decision to join the Premier League side was due to the club's strong desire for him and their clear development project for young players.

What’s next for Palmeiras?

Palmeiras face elimination from the Club World Cup if they lose on Friday, but could face Fluminense or Al-Hilal in the semi-finals if they advance.
