A former Napoli midfielder turned pundit gave the Partenopei on which player to go for between Ademola Lookman and Rafael Leao.
Former Napoli and Lazio midfielder Dario Marcolin urged the Partenopei to prioritise a move for Ademola Lookman over Rafael Leao.
The 27-year-old Super Eagles ace is set to leave Atalanta this summer, and while he has been linked with a move overseas, it is increasingly likely that he would remain in Italy, with Napoli keen on making a move.

Napoli on Lookman agenda
The Naples-based club have apparently learnt from their mistakes from the historically abysmal title defence of the 2023/24 season, as they are working hard on consolidating their current success.
Unlike that season when they lost the title-winning manager Luciano Spaletti, Napoli have reportedly convinced Antonio Conte to continue, after the former Chelsea boss was rumoured to be leaving.

Also, they are in the process of strengthening their squad. They are close to completing a deal for Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne as a free agent, and have been linked with a move for Lookman.
What Macario said
Speaking on Radio Marte during Marte Sport Live, Macario, who spent two years at Napoli, praised the club's triumphant Serie A campaign. Talking about consolidation, he noted the interest in Lookman and Leao, before determining that the Nigerian was the better option.
“Between Leao and Lookman - and after De Bruyne - and the permanence of Conte I can think that they are both credible options for Napoli,” he said.
“Between the two wingers I would take Lookman: Leao is strong and with Conte he would find greater continuity but the Atalanta player can play in more roles, he determines and serves for the change of pace as well as in one-on-one in sprint and speed and has more goals in his feet.”

Whether Lookman stays or leaves La Dea, however, his coach next season would most likely not be Gian Piero Gasperini, as the Italian left Atalanta to take the job at Roma.
