Anyembe continues brilliant form since return from injury as Viborg register yet another Danish Superliga win.

Harambee Stars right back Daniel Anyembe completed his second 90-minute spell on a football pitch for the second game in a row since his recovery from a long-term injury as Viborg tossed OB aside 2-1 to keep their Danish Superliga survival hopes alive.

Anyembe, who has made seven caps for the Harambee Stars since debuting against Iran in March 2023, looked impressive throughout the match, and even though he got booked, was solid otherwise.

He made seven clearances and interceptions, registered one key pass, and won two of his four attempted ground and areal duels, and his performance will surely galvanise the side to win all their remaining games to remain in the Superliga at the end of the season.’

The match kicked off with both teams displaying a strong desire to dominate the game. In the 11th minute, Serginho came close to opening the scoring for Viborg with a tap-in from the edge of the box, only to be denied by the post.

However, two minutes later, OB took the lead through Nicholas Mickelson, who capitalized on a defensive error to make it 1-0.

Viborg responded swiftly, and in the 18th minute, Serginho's corner found Nicolas Bürgy, who leveled the score at 1-1 with a well-placed header.

The second half saw Viborg dominate possession, but they struggled to convert their dominance into clear-cut chances due to OB's well-organized defense.

In the 80th minute, Serginho once again made an impact, setting up Ibrahim Said for Viborg's second goal with an ingenious dribble.

Said made no mistake, tapping the ball into the net to give Viborg a deserved 2-1 lead. OB pushed forward in search of an equalizer, leaving spaces at the back, and Viborg capitalized on this in the 85th minute.

Malik Abubakari intercepted a pass from Magnus Westergaard and scored to seal the victory for Viborg with a final score of 3-1.

The win lifts Viborg's spirits as they fight to secure their place in the Danish Superliga for next season.

With key players like Anyembe and Serginho in good form, Viborg will be looking to carry this momentum into their remaining fixtures to ensure their survival in the top flight.
