The CAF Executive Committee ("EXCO") will convene in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire on Saturday night over a number of issues and it is believed a proposal to have teams that are knocked out of the CAF Inter-club competitions at the second preliminary stage receive $50,000 (Ksh7,577,105) is among those to be discussed.

Gor Mahia have been handed heavy punishments by FKF just a day after Sports Kenya slapped the club with a Ksh2 million bill for damages caused at Kasarani Stadium.
As it is now, the money bracket starts at the group stage for both competitions with the Champions League paying $700,000 (Ksh106,079,475) for group stage qualification while the Confederation Cup pays $400,000 (Ksh60,616,843) for making it to the group.
Teams have been catering for all expenses in both the first and second preliminary rounds but now, they could be pocketing at least Ksh7.5 million for reaching the latter.
Kenyan teams have rarely made it past the preliminary rounds during their participation in continental competitions and the proposal will be welcomed well in the country since they will not leave empty-handed when that happens.
Gor Mahia are the only team to have gone past these rounds in the recent past when they reached the quarter-final in the 2018-19 season.
