According to the organisers of the NPFL monthly honours - the League Bloggers Awards (LBA), March was placed under consideration along with April as only two rounds of matches had been held in the month.
The NPFL had between February and March 2023, been on a three-week break due to Nigeria's general elections, with the league resuming on March 25.
Since the resumption of the league, there have been seven matchdays, with teams left with their final two fixture of the regular season.
