The Norwegian forward surpassed Alan Shearer’s 28-year mark of 34 Premier League strikes this week.

Erling Haaland has already broken a number of records in his breathtaking debut season in the Premier League, having surpassed Alan Shearer’s goal haul of 34 in the English top flight on Wednesday.

The Manchester City striker scored as Pep Guardiola’s men put West Ham to the sword, winning 3-0, and it was his 35 Premier League goal, ending Shearer’s 28-year stranglehold on the record.

To put it in perspective, Shearer’s record of 34 was achieved in a 42-game league while Haaland has done it in a 38-game division with five matches to spare.

Haaland, who has 45 goals in all competitions this season, already surpassed the 94-year club record set by Tommy Johnson with his 39th goal of the season in March.

The City goal machine also matched Lionel Messi and Luis Adriano as the only players to have scored five goals in a single Champions League game.

That was after his haul past RB Leipzig in March and with eight games still remaining, possibly nine if Guardiola’s men reach the Champions League final, what other records are left for him to equal or break?

Most UCL goals in a single season

As City set their sights on chasing a first Champions League crown, the competition’s record is also in Haaland’s sights.

It was set by Cristiano Ronaldo during the 2013-14 campaign, where he scored 17 goals during their title-winning campaign as Real Madrid edged out city rivals Atletico in the final.

Haaland currently has 12 in the competition and stands a chance at levelling or even breaking Ronaldo's record but that means scoring five past Madrid in the two-leg semi-final as well as the final if they can get there.

Most hat-tricks in an EPL season

The Norwegian already has four Premier League hat-tricks to his name since completing his £51 million switch to the Etihad in the summer.

He's managed to bag three goals in outings against Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Manchester United and Wolves this season, putting him well within touching distance of the single-season record.

This is another set by Alan Shearer, in the 1995-96 campaign with Blackburn Rovers, where the English talisman scored five hat-tricks.

Haaland needs one more hat-trick from games against Leeds United, Southampton, Everton, Chelsea, Brighton and Brentford to equal Shearer's record.

Most goals in an English club's top-flight season

The current record for the most goals in a single-season across all competitions in the English top-flight stands at 63 goals held by Everton legend Dixie Dean since the 1927-28 season.

In order to match the incredible record, Haaland would have to score 12 goals in the eight or nine remaining matches for City.

Dean scored just three of the 63 goals out of the English First Division, all of them coming in the FA Cup, meaning he netted an incredible 60 in the league which looks like a stretch for Haaland. Or could he?
