The Manchester City fan who ran onto the field and leapt on Erling Haaland, kissing the striker has been identified as a former world boxing champion.

Terry Flanagan, a 34-year-old retired British professional fighter and ardent City supporter, held the WBO lightweight championship from 2015 to 2017. Only two of his 38 fights ended in losses, and he scored 14 KOs along the way.

During Man City’s clash against Sheffield United on Sunday, former world boxing champion Terry Flanagan was seen running onto the pitch to celebrate with Haaland who opened the scoring for his team.

The Man City fan was later recognised as the Former world boxing champion after being taken away by the stadium security.

While City attempted to find a way past the Blades, Haaland had previously missed a penalty.

The Norwegian striker later opened the scoring with a skillfully executed close-range header after Jack Grealish's cross.

During the celebration, Flanagan leapt onto the field from the stand and sprinted off to join in the celebrations with Erling Haaland and he hurled himself upon his back.

According to reports from the Sun, Flanagan appeared to kiss the forward's neck, but the player didn't seem startled by the encounter.
