Asike returns to the brewers from IF Karlstad Fotboll and aims to contribute experience for positive results in the FKF Premier League.

Harambee Stars defender Eugene Asike has made a triumphant return to his former club, Tusker FC, after his stint with Swedish side IF Karlstad Fotboll.

The brewers have welcomed back the seasoned defender with open arms, although the exact duration of his contract remains shrouded in mystery.

Asike's decision to rejoin his home team stems from contractual matters and a yearning to contribute to the club's success.

The 29-year-old defender had initially signed a six-month contract with the Swedish Division Two side back in August of the previous year.

Asike's exceptional performance and leadership on the field were instrumental in helping the brewers clinch their 12th league title in 2021, further solidifying his status as a key player.

This marked his second championship victory with the club, his first being in 2016 when Tusker FC secured a memorable double.

"It is a good feeling to come back into the team though they are new faces in the team. I am still getting to know them," Asike expressed.

Asike did not shy away from sharing the rationale behind his decision to return to familiar territory.

“The decision was to come back because I had a little bit of contractual issues. And I decided as I sort that out I can get some game time here," he disclosed.

"I can see hunger in the new players in the team. I believe with the experience I have I can help the team achieve positive results," Asike confidently stated.

Fans of the club are eagerly anticipating Asike's presence on the field, and they won't have to wait long to witness his return to action.

As Tusker gears up for their upcoming match against Kariobangi Sharks at the Ruaraka Grounds, Asike is expected to make his much-anticipated appearance in the second match on Saturday.
