Juventus have received a 10-point deduction as revised punishment for their capital gains scandal.

Juventus have now been hit with a 10-point deduction following a court hearing of their capital gains case today.

The Serie A giants were implicated in a financial misrepresentation scandal in which they were accused of illegal creative accounting.

Juventus fall to 7th

The Old Lady were previously handed a 15-point ban in an initial court hearing that saw them fall to midtable on the Serie A log.

However, the club appealed this decision, and their deducted points were reinstated temporarily.

The case went into another appeal to the FIGC court, and following a trial today, they have now been handed a 10-point deduction.

The ten points are a reduced punishment from the initial 15, and the 11 points deduction was requested by the FIGC prosecutor.

What this means for Juventus

This new deduction sees them drop to 59 points and consequently seventh on the log, outside the European places.

However, if they win against Empoli tonight, they will lie four points behind Inter in third place, two behind AC Milan in fourth, and above Atalanta and Roma in fifth and sixth, respectively.

The Old Lady, however, still have Champions League qualification in their hands, as winning their last three games, which include a match against AC Milan, ensures they finish in the top four.
