Caicedo has attracted interest after his impressive performance for the Seagulls last season.

Chelsea have reportedly inched closer to sealing Moises Caicedo's deal.

The Ecuadorian is said to have agreed to a deal worth over £80 million with the Blues and will make a move in the summer transfer window.

Caicedo has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and could be wearing the Chelsea jersey next season after reportedly verbally agreeing to an offer from Stamford Bridge.

He played 43 games across all competitions for the Seagulls and had a goal and an assist. His performances were noticed and have attracted interest from several clubs. Although he had been linked with Arsenal, his move to Chelsea is said to be imminent.

Just like Arsenal, Chelsea tried to sign the 21-year-old in the January window, but they were not successful in their pursuit. Arsenal submitted a record bid, but it was turned down before the defensive midfielder signed a new deal at Brighton.

The new deal agreed upon then has strengthened Brighton's hand on the negotiation table and are now demanding a huge amount on their midfielder. Reports indicate the Seagulls will ask for over £80 million in order to allow Caicedo to leave, with Chelsea and Arsenal being the most interested clubs.

An official bid could arrive from Chelsea soon, and fans are eager to see whether the Ecuadorian will be the next signing after Christopher Nkunku was announced.
