Huge news for Bayer Leverkusen and the Super Eagles, as Victor Boniface has returned to training on the pitch, following the adductor injury that kept him out of the AFCON.

This news marks a significant milestone in his recovery journey after being sidelined due to an injury. He announced his return to the grass in a triumphant manner, employing lyrics from the smash new single from Portable and Skepta, Tony Montana.

The Injury: What Happened to Victor Boniface?

While in training camp in Dubai with the Super Eagles, Boniface suffered a muscle tendon injury in the right adductor area and was forced to pull out of the tournament and travel back to Germany for surgery.

The Ondo-born striker underwent a successful operation and has since been in recovery and rehab. Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso provided an update on his status a few days ago, revealing that the Nigerian was close to returning. And now, true to the Spaniard's words, Boniface is training again.

Boniface announces return

Victor Boniface sent shockwaves of excitement and anticipation through the football community with the recent announcement of his return to training, accompanied by Portable and Skepta's empowering anthem, Tony Montana.

The striker shared pictures of himself in training and captioned it with Afrobeats singer Portable's catchy hook on Tony Montana: "Big Smoke pe'lú tobacco, oh Tony, Tony, Tony Montana oh Wacko, psycho, I want to explode Fire oh, ginger oh (Ginger oh) Somebody, pour me water oh I dey on my own Waka jeje, make we no jam àgbákò."

Boniface's return comes at a crucial time for Bayer Leverkusen as they approach the final stretch of a sensational title race that could see them depose Bayern Munich as Bundesliga champions for the first time in 11 years.
