Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has offered some selection advice to Reds boss Arne Slot after the UEFA Champions League defeat to Galatasaray.
Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night has sparked reactions and comments from fans and pundits, including former Reds defender Jamie Carragher, who has now urged manager Arne Slot to take Florian Wirtz out of the starting XI.
The Reds huffed and puffed but were undone by Victor Osimhen's first-half penalty, condemning them to a second consecutive defeat, following their 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace.

Carragher believes the German midfielder is upsetting the team’s rhythm. “Right now, I don’t think the balance of the team is right, and the obvious one that stands out is Florian Wirtz – he’s just not at the races at all,” he told CBS Sports.
While stressing that Wirtz’s long-term potential remains undoubted, Carragher argued that Slot must act decisively in the short term:
“He’s a young boy coming into a new league, and he has plenty of time to grow as a Liverpool player.
"However, right now I think he needs to come out of the team. The manager needs to fix it.”
The defeat leaves Liverpool under growing scrutiny ahead of their trip to Stamford Bridge this weekend.
