Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are reportedly in talks to appoint recently relegated manager Vincent Kompany to replace Thomas Tuchel.

In a shock turn of events, Bayern Munich have turned their attention to Burnley manager Vincent Kompany.

The Manchester City legend, who learned at the feet of Pep Guardiola, led Burnley to relegation this season but was often praised for his expansive style of play, and willingness to keep playing his way, no matter what.

According to Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Bavarians have discussed the possibility of appointing the ex-Anderlecht man as their next manager despite Burnley being relegated to the Championship.

Kompany reportedly fits the profile the German club are looking for as their long search for Tuchel's successor continues.

This would certainly be a shocking appointment, one that smacks of desperation from a board that has witnessed several rejections.

The report also claims Kompany is on the list of several English clubs including Brighton, who have parted ways with Roberto De Zerbi.
