Barcelona register interest in Man City forward

Barcelona have reportedly registered interest in Manchester City winger Savinho, as they are keen on bolstering their offensive ranks next summer.

The 22-year-old arrived at Manchester City in the summer of 2024 from fellow City Football Group side Troyes after a breakout 2023/24 loan at Girona, where he scored 9 goals and provided 10 assists in 37 LaLiga appearances. 

City signed him on a five-year deal, and he has since been used as a rotational winger at the Etihad, producing flashes but struggling for consistent output 

Despite his poor numbers, Savinho remains an attractive prospect, given his age and proof of concept from his time at Girona. That upside is why Savinho attracted strong interest from Tottenham last summer. 

The Lilywhites pursued him aggressively, tabling bids worth around €70m,  but Manchester City refused to sell and instead extended Savinho’s contract to 2031, effectively closing the door on a mid-season move. 

However, according to GFNS, Barcelona are to be evaluating the winger market as they look for young wide options and are prepared to test Manchester City’s resolve. 

Savinho's LALIGA experience is said to be appealing to the Blaugrana, who are not only considering the Brazilian but also other young wingers as they prepare for a busy summer next year.
