Barcelona and Real Madrid lead the pack, closely monitoring his development and considering moving to acquire his services.

Greenwood's Impressive Form at Getafe Attracts Attention

Greenwood's Journey from Manchester United to Getafe

Following allegations of attempted rape, assault, and coercive control in January 2022, Manchester United suspended Greenwood, leading to significant changes in his career trajectory.

The charges were later dropped, but United decided that Greenwood should continue his career elsewhere, resulting in his current loan to Getafe, as per Football Transfers.

Getafe's Strategic Move: Securing a Sell-On Clause

Recognizing Greenwood's potential, Getafe included a 20% sell-on clause in his loan contract. This clause ensures that Getafe will benefit from any future transfer of Greenwood, reflecting the club's belief in his value.

Manchester United's Position and Potential Transfer Fee

However, given the interest from major clubs and the lingering controversy in England, a sale seems more likely. The potential transfer fee remains undiscussed publicly, but a loan offer from Lazio suggests a market value of around €15 million.

A Decision Expected Next Summer

A decision on Greenwood's long-term future is expected after his loan period with Getafe ends next summer. However, returning to Manchester United seems improbable due to the ongoing controversy surrounding him in England.
