Although Saliba is a key cog in the Gunners’ backline, he has been sidelined since mid-March.

Amid William Saliba’s injury concerns, Arsenal are monitoring Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi as a backup option.

Rob Holding – who has deputized for the French center-back – will see his contract expire next year, and while it has not been confirmed whether Holding’s deal will be extended, the club has started looking elsewhere for a viable option.

Saliba has not been available for Arsenal since he was injured during a Europa League match against Sporting Lisbon, meaning that Mikel Arteta has had to operate with limited options at the back.

The Gunners’ squad is expected to be massively bolstered in the summer, and an area that is especially expected to see new members added is the defense unit.

Guehi has been a regular starter for Palace and has captained the London club at times. His performances have not gone unnoticed, and he could be on the move in the next transfer window.

He has made 78 appearances for the Eagles since he joined for £18 million from Chelsea in 2021. He has also been capped three times by England.

Guehi – who has also been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur - signed a five-year deal with the south London club, and the club is under no pressure to sell.

Meanwhile, Arsenal can land their target Raphinha, as Barcelona are ready to let the forward leave for £50–60 million.

The Blaugrana are looking to get funds that will help them get Lionel Messi back, and the Brazilian attacker could be their source of income.

Raphinha went through a slump in form but has become a regular first-teamer under Xavi Hernandez in recent games.

He has ten goals and 11 assists in 44 appearances, but his future is uncertain, with Barcelona considering cashing in on him.
