Cameroon boss Andre Onana assures that there is unity in his camp ahead of the Round of 16 clash against Nigeria.

Cameroon's head coach, Rigobert Song, has dismissed any notion of a fresh conflict with star goalkeeper Andre Onana ahead of their crucial Africa Cup of Nations last-16 clash against Nigeria. Despite Onana's recent benching, Song maintains a positive outlook on his squad's unity and readiness.

Song's Stance on Goalkeeper Controversy

Rigobert Song is adamant about the harmony within his team, especially among the goalkeepers. Addressing the media, he said, "I have no problem with my goalkeepers. They are all competitive and ready to respond when they need to play. There is no controversy. They get along very well."

This statement comes amidst speculation about Onana's role in the upcoming match against Nigeria, following his absence in Cameroon's last group game. Song, however, did not clarify whether Onana would be back in goal for the knockout stage.

Focus on Defence Against Nigeria

With a challenging game ahead against a formidable Nigerian side led by Victor Osimhen, Song emphasizes the importance of a solid defensive strategy. Acknowledging the six goals already conceded, Song expressed his determination to bolster Cameroon's defence, stating, "We have already conceded six goals and tomorrow we will find the formula to not concede."

He further added, "We will try to put Nigeria in difficulty and fight to continue in the competition. I know what needs to be done so that we do everything possible tomorrow to obtain a positive result."
