8 teams leave competition as NPFL LaLiga U-15 Promises enters quarterfinal stage

Enyimba, Remo Stars, Akwa United, Plateau United and Wikki Tourists are among the teams that made the last 8.

The 2023 edition of the NPFL-LaLiga U15 Promises have entered its quarterfinal stage, with the best eight youth teams in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) making the cut.

Upon completion of the group stage, the 16-team tournament sees the likes of Lobi Stars, Bayelsa United, Kwara United, Doma United, Dakkada, Bendel Insurance, Rangers and Gombe United exit the competition.

Important stats following from the group stage

  • Plateau United who finished second in Group A, are the side with the most goals so far in the competition (9). 
  • Lobi Stars conceded the most goals in the group stages of 2023 NPFL LaLiga U15 Promises (9).
  •  Enyimba’s Gabriel Nwankwo currently leads the goalscorer chart with 5 goals. Nwankwo also scored the first and only hat trick in the group stage. 
  • Group D winners Shooting Stars conceded the least goals by any side in the group stage of the competition (1). 
  • Doma United and Lobi Stars were the two teams that failed to win or draw a single game in the group stage. Bayelsa United also finished with 0 points after 3 points and 3 goals were deducted for fielding an ineligible player.
