The Danish midfielder made quick progress and returned to training with the first team.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed Luke Shaw will not be available for their Premier League match against Everton on Saturday.

The fullback was withdrawn during United’s midweek match against Brentford – which they won by a 1-0 margin - and has consequently been ruled out.

"Luke Shaw is not available for tomorrow, and we have to see how we progress in the coming week," Ten Hag said in his pre-match presser.

On a positive note, Christian Eriksen is set to make it into the matchday squad for the first time since January.

"The good news is Christian Eriksen is back in training, and he will be back in the squad tomorrow," Ten Hag added.

"I think it was not for nothing, I was so angry about that bad tackle [by Andy Carroll] and he [Eriksen] was away. We first feared we would lose him for the whole season, but he worked really well, and the medical department did very well.

"He's returning to the squad and is available for the final stages of the season, so we are very pleased with that. It was a really bad tackle and a really bad injury, it's settled and now we are very happy with that."

The Dane had initially been set to be unavailable until the end of April but has managed to recover fast.

"I think it was not for nothing," added the Dutchman on Eriksen’s injury. "I was so angry about that tackle, and he was away - at first we feared we had lost him for the whole season, but he worked very well.

"I think the medical department did really well, and in the spirit of togetherness, he is already returning to the squad and is available for the final stages of the season. We are very pleased with that."

Meanwhile, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Andros Townsend are unavailable for Everton.
