'Morrise Moristo Maketho Maloso Hercules' is breathing fire ahead of the Mayday Boxing match

National heavyweight champion Morris "Hercules" Okolla is set to meet DR Congo's Yannick Manda on Saturday at Charter Hall in Nairobi.

The 40-year-old Police constable will face the hard-hitting Congolese pugilist in an eight-round non-title heavyweight fight organized by Solid Rock Promotions.

Okolla, a product of the famous Dallas Muthurwa boxing ranks and younger brother of retired international Daniel Shisia, was initially set to defend his national heavyweight title against US-based Kenyan Raymond "King Kong" Ochieng, but the fight didn't materialise.

"Raymond chickened out after travelling all the way from the US to Kenya, he's like a hyena so scared of me," said Okolla, as per Nenez Media.

"All that is now water under the bridge, I'm focused on my fight with the DRC boxer. I will teach this dancer a good boxing lesson, I will entertain my fans with boxing Made in Dallas."

Okolla has scored 12 wins, four losses, and no draw (12-4-0) and will be escorted to the ring tonight by his two sons, Spinx and Floyd.

Okolla's opponent, Manda, 31, who has eight wins and four losses, fought last on April 9, last year, in Goma, DRC, where he won against Dominique Ilunga.

The southpaw boxer, Okalla turned professional in 2010 and has been the national heavyweight champion since knocking out James Nyariki on September 26, 2015.

Six support bouts will be on the cards in the promotion that will get underway at 6pm.

The co-main card features Kenya's Denzel Onyango Okoth against Uganda's Kenneth Lukyamizi in a super-middleweight duel.
