David Adeleye calls out favoritism

The British Boxing Board of Control announced the heavyweight match-up for the British title on Thursday, April 13, 2023.

Adeleye was frustrated that his victory against Bezus and winning the WBO European title was not enough to earn him a British heavyweight title shot.

Adeleye took to his official Instagram account to call out the British Boxing Board of Control accusing them of favoritism.

He said, "The fucking disrespect. All this queue jumping & favoritism.

"I can’t wait around months and possibly next year for the British title shot it doesn’t make sense.

"They can keep the belt, I’ll go down a different route🖕🏾."

The statement by the British Boxing Board of Control on the heavyweight division put Fabio Wardley the current holder against Frazer Clarke.

Linus Udofia to face Kieron Conway

British professional boxer of Nigerian descent Linus Udofia is set for a title fight.

Udofia will take on Kieron Conway as a final eliminator for the British Middlweight title.

The statement by the board said, "Following the withdrawal of Tyler Denny from the above final eliminator contest, the Stewards decided to approve a request from Eddie Hearn for the above contest which will take place on a date and venue to be advised."

Udofia signed to Matchroom boxing under British sports promoter Eddie Hearn will take on Conway on the undercard of the Leigh Wood against Mauricio Lara title fight.

A victory against Udofia will set him up to take on the winner of other eliminators between Aaron Sutton against Gerome Warburton.
