Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell has surpassed a franchise record set in the 1994-95 NBA season.

On Friday night at Crypto Arena against the Philadelphia 76ers, D'Angelo Russell made history for the Los Angeles Lakers by breaking the franchise single-season record for made 3-pointers.

The 28-year-old guard surpassed Nick Van Exel's franchise record, which had stood since the 1994-95 NBA season.

This achievement marks Russell's second stint with the Lakers, who originally drafted him in 2015. With over 10 games remaining in the season, he has the opportunity to further extend this record.

His six 3-pointers against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night gave him 183 this season to surpass Kobe Bryant's 180 from the 2005-06 season.
