The ninth leg of the Wanda Diamond League series continues in Monaco on Friday with a stashed field of record holders.

Double world record holder Faith Kipyegon will be taking on the mile for the first time since 2015 and will be hoping lower Sifan Hassan’s world record. The two-time Olympic champion has been in impeccable form since the season started and there is no doubt that she might break another record.

Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala is also in the mix and he will be seeking his first win since starting the Diamond League campaign in Rabat, Morocco. Omanyala will be up against South Africa’s Akani Simbine and Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo among other stars.

Commonwealth Games champion Mary Moraa will also be competing in the 400m against a star-studded field that has attracted world 400m Hurdles champion Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone. Other Kenyans to look out for include Jacob Krop, Stanley Waithaka, and Nicholas Kimeli in the 5000m.

Abraham Kibiwott will also team up with Conseslus Kipruto in the 3000m Steeplechase while the men’s 800m will see the dynamic trio of Emmanuel Wanyonyi, Emmanuel Korir, and Wycliffe Kinyamal take on tough opponents.

The action will start at 7:40 p.m. EAT with the women's long jump and the main programme will kick off at 9:00 p.m. EAT with the men’s 400M Hurdles.

The meeting will be streamed in a number of territories on the Wanda Diamond League YouTube page from 9:00 p.m. EAT. The live stream, however, will not be available in all territories.

The event will also be broadcast live on SuperSport Variety 4, channel 209 on DSTV in a number of African English-speaking countries including Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Africa.
