A video of Marcel Jacobs training on the Microgravity Treadmill ahead of the Olympic Games has elicited mixed reactions from fans across the globe, especially Americans.

A video of reigning Olympic champion Marcel Jacobs’ training ahead of the Olympic Games has elicited mixed reactions from fans.

Jacobs was running the Microgravity Treadmill Workout, an advanced training technique only available in a few countries. The Microgravity Treadmill allows you to run or walk at anywhere from 100% to as low as 20% of your body weight, in 1% increments.

This reduction in effective body weight is achieved by creating a higher pressure around the lower body and because pressure is greater than the pressure outside the enclosure, it creates a lifting force that counteracts gravity.

The lifting force is dispersed across your entire lower body, which makes it incredibly comfortable. This gives you a sense of walking or running in a totally normal way, while at the same time feeling incredibly fast, strong, and pain-free.

With this technology that Jacobs has started the season with, fans did not shy away from making their comments concerning the new technique.

Keith Hall added a comment on the post saying: “Imagine if the US government paid for & funded track athletes to prepare the way European countries do.”

Jack Phakathi added another comment to the post saying: “Getting a rhythm of a long-distance runner perhaps, he will be lucky if he comes out of the heats, I don't understand some trainers.”

Another X (Twitter) user added another comment saying: “All that to run 100 m? C’mon Jacobs all that to get smoked by Noah Lyles.”

Another one added a comment explaining that: “Lamont went from running inside horse containers to this new Drago sht. Keep an eye out him ya’ll. Oceans is plotting!”

Bruce Delahorne also commented saying: “He's clearly fast. He's also clearly fragile.”
