Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Noah Lyles, and Tara Davis-Woodhall make final list of World Athletics Athlete of the Year Awards
The finalists for the 2025 World Athletics Athlete of the Year Awards have been announced, with USA's top athletes Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Noah Lyles, and Tara Davis-Woodhall dominating the list.
The trio was finalized from an initial list of five nominees, with the voting process concluding through votes from the World Athletics Council, the World Athletics Family, and social media.
For the Women's Track Athlete of the Year, McLaughlin-Levrone and Dutch hurdling queen Femke Bol are the finalists, with an obvious snub in Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, Beatrice Chebet, and Faith Kipyegon.

Meanwhile, in the men's category, Lyles and Kenya's 800m star Emmanuel Wanyonyi will slug it out for the prestigious award.

The Women's Field Athlete of the Year is heralded by long jump queen Davis-Woodhall and Australian high jump hero Nicola Olyslagers, while the men's category has Swedish Pole Vault legend Mondo Duplantis and Italian young long jumper Mattia Furlani.

They are the Top 12 finalists, with winners of each category announced at the World Athletics Awards on November 30.
