Sha'Carri Richardson was honoured to gift Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, and Charles Leclerc after their podium finish at the F1 United States Grand Prix in Austin.

Reigning world 100m champion Sha’Carri Richardson is surely enjoying her off-season.

Richardson, the fastest woman this year, was privileged to hand the plaques to sprint race leaders Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and Charles Leclerc at the F1 United States Grand Prix in Austin.

She expressed her delight on her Instagram stories, sharing photos of her with the F1 stars all smiles. She reposted one photo of her hugging Lewis Hamilton and fans were left in awe. In another photo, Richardson is seen handing Verstappen the plaque.

The American also met F1 driver Carrie Schreiner who expressed her joy to have met Richardson. In a post on her Instagram, she said: “It was so cool to meet you, Richardson, a real role model.”

Meanwhile, Max Verstappen yet again held off Lewis Hamilton's early challenge to claim a record third Sprint victory of the season at the United States Grand Prix.

Red Bull's Verstappen led the 19 laps from start to finish to become the first driver to win three Sprints in a season.

Hamilton was given the benefit of the doubt by the stewards after running off track as he overtook Ferrari's Charles Leclerc on the opening lap, and applied early pressure to Verstappen in the early stages.

Leclerc, who will start on pole on Sunday, finished a further eight seconds back from Hamilton, suggesting Ferrari are in for a challenging afternoon.

After the race, Verstappen said: "It (the start) was quite tight. Luckily there was a lot of space going into Turn 1, so that helps.

"After that, we could do our own race and control the pace a bit. Had a bit of fun at the end, pushing a bit more.

"The DRS with such big wings on this track, it's quite powerful. Once I cleared the DRS we all settled in our own rhythm and I think the pace of our car was very good."
