Sha'Carri Richardson is ready for the World Championships. Here's her post-race interview after winning the US title.
Newly crowned US Champion Sha'Carri Richardson has revealed her current state and readiness for the World Championships in Budapest.
Richardson clocked a swift 10.82s (0.7) to win the women's 100m title at the US Championships and secure her ticket to the World Championships in Budapest.
Her winning time was a follow-up to the effortless 10.75s clocked earlier in the semis and her then world-leading Personal Best (PB) of 10.71s in the prelims. She couldn't go lower than these times as her start let her down but still found the drive for the needed victory.
By doing this, the speedster officially claimed her first National title, and it will be her first time competing in US colours at the World Championships.

In a post-race interview with nbcsports.com, Richardson revealed her readiness to rule the world in Budapest and that she's better this season.
"I'm ready mentally, physically, and emotionally and I'm here to stay. I'm not back, I'm better," said Richardson.
With Shericka Jackson clocking a new world-leading time of 10.65s to win the Jamaican title, Marie-Josee Ta Lou (10.75s) still in the mix, and defending world champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce yet to make her season's debut in the event, athletics fans can put their excitement way up on the World Record of 10.49s perhaps going down this year.
