Shericka Jackson revealed in the Brussels Diamond League press conference that she's going for the 200m World Record, that her body and mind is ready.
World champion Shericka Jackson is ready to show up at the Brussels Diamond League by taking down the long-standing 200m World Record (WR) of 21.34s set by the late Florence Griffith-Joyner.
The Jamaican speedster made this known in the Wanda Diamond League press conference when asked if she has it in mind to break the WR this year.

"At the World Championships, I was so close, just a little wind and I would have been the World Record holder. Coach and I have spoke, and I think we are going after it this year, and I hope to get it tomorrow," said the second-fastest woman in history in the 200m.
Jackson was close to breaking the WR at the World Championships in Budapest, blazing to a Championship Record (CR) of 21.41s to win the title, erasing her previous CR of 21.45s, clocked in Oregon last year.

Shericka Jackson has revealed she's capable of running super fast in the 400m and breaking the Jamaican record of 49.30s.
She believes Brussels is finally the place to achieve her long-term goal, considering it's a fast new track and if not, the Diamond League final in Eugene.
"If I do get it tomorrow (Brussels), then that will probably ease a lot of pressure going to Eugene, but if not we have another shot in Eugene.
"There's no perfect race, I just want to run a good race tomorrow and put everything in place. We right there, we're still close, we're knocking on the door."

"Tomorrow is supposed to be a good day...My body is feeling good, my mind is ready, and that's the best thing I can put together - my mind and my body, anything is possible tomorrow," she concluded.
Jackson will race against a respectable field that includes Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, Daryll Neita, and Anthonique Strachan.
