Favour Ofili is back to dishing out fast times, as she clocked the fastest overall time of 22.58s (1.7) to reach the 200m final at the South Eastern Conference (SEC) Championships.

The Louisiana State University (LSU) star sprinter conveniently won her heat from lane 9 ahead of University of Florida's Talitha Diggs in 22.68s to lead the qualifiers in the event.
Meanwhile, Jacious Sears won the second heat in a Personal Best (PB) of 22.65s to clock the second-fastest overall time. The other finalists are McKenzie Long (22.82s), Kaila Jackson (22.83s), Rosey Effiong (22.85s), and Karimah Davis (22.92s).
Ofili's favourite to retain her title as she's is bound to go faster in the final. She won the sprint double last year in blazing times of 10.93s and 22.02s respectively.
Though she hasn't had a perfect start to the outdoor season, after sustaining a suspected injury at the end of her record-breaking indoor season, Ofili is still capable of dominating the event in the final.

Consequently, her teammate Godson Brume clocked a PB of 20.72s (-1.2) to finish third in his heat but sadly didn't make the final, as his time was eleventh fastest overall.
