Marie Josee Ta Lou-Smith began her Paris Olympic campaign on an impressive note, blazing to 10.91s (1.1) for victory at the Jamaica Athletics Invitational, thus making her 'sister' Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce proud.
The Ivorian track queen was officially making her individual season debut in the Caribbean country, after helping her country qualify in the women's 4x100m event at the just concluded World Relays in the Bahamas.

Ta Lou-Smith ran an effortlessly race - her fastest season opener to the amazement of the Jamaican fans as homegirls Krystal Sloley and Kemba Nelson finished second and third in 11.09s and 11.12s.
French speedster Gemima Joseph was fourth in 11.15s, while Jamaican youngsters Alana Reid (11.24s), Tia Clayton (11.24s), and Brianna Williams (11.34s) occupied the remaining last positions.
Interestingly, Ta Lou-Smith is a darling of Jamaican track fans as she's married to a Trinidadian J. Smith and a best friend to their legend Fraser-Pryce.
