Rising teen speedster has chosen to don the Jamaican colours internationally and will be looking forward to make her debut at the World U20 Championships in Lima.

Speed sensation Skyler Franklin, who has dual citizenship, has declared to represent Jamaica internationally over her country of birth USA.

The 16-year-old Montverde Academy standout is the fastest 400m sophomore in US High School history, having lowered her Personal Best (PB) of 52.53s at the Florida Relays to an outstanding 51.66s a few weeks later at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational - the 10th-best high school performance of all-time in the event.

Franklin as the fastest sophomore at the distance in history, moved her past former Indiana great Lynna Irby (now with Adidas) and former prep standouts like Arria Minor (52.05), Kimberly Harris (52.33), Sade Williams (52.35), Brittany Jones (52.44), Athing Mu (52.45), Shawnti Jackson (52.54) and even Sydney Mclaughlin-Levrone (52.59s).

She is also a good 60m, 100m, and 200m sprinter, having PB times of 7.46s, 11.44s, and 23.55s respectively, and has also announced she'll be professionally sponsored by Brooks.

The fast-rising star will be aiming to wear the black, gold, and green colours this summer at the U20 Championships in Lima, Peru.
