The nominees for the World Athletics Male Athlete of the Year has been announced, featuring Noah Lyles, Letsile Tebogo, and Emmanuel Wanyonyi.
Paris Olympic champions Noah Lyles, Letsile Tebogo, and Emmanuel Wanyonyi have been selected in a tough men's list for the World Athletics Track Athlete of the Year.
According to the World Athletics, the nominees reflect some of the standout performances achieved at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, World Athletics Indoor Championships, one-day meeting circuits, and other events worldwide.

Lyles became USA's first Olympic 100m champion clocking a new personal best time of 9.79s, in addition to claiming 200m bronze medal in Paris. The world's fastest man also won 60m silver medal at the world indoor championships, thus making him one of the most decorated male sprinters this season.
For Tebogo, he became Africa's first Olympic 200m champion in history, running a new continental record and world-leading time of 19.46s. The Motswana speed king also anchored his country to the Olympic 4x400m silver medal to highlight his iconic season.
Likewise, Kenya's Wanyonyi was a dominant force in the 800m event this season, with Olympic and Diamond League titles, as well as clocking the second-fastest time in history in a season where the men's 800m event was arguably the most competitive ever.
World Athletics states there will be just two finalists before the winner will be announced.
