ATHLETICS Barnaba Korir hails youth team for impressive show at Africa U18/20 Championships

The junior team managed to bag 33 medals.

Athletics Kenya Nairobi Region Chair Barnaba Korir has lauded the junior team to the CAA U18/20 Championships in Ndola, Zambia for their impressive performance that saw them finish third overall.

The team left the country on Thursday, April 27 for the five-day event that started on April 29 and concluded on May 3. Team Kenya managed to bring back home a total of 33 medals.

The team jetted back into the country on Thursday, May 4 and were received by AK officials led by Korir.

“While our target was to top the continent, we congratulate the youngsters for the impressive show.

This is just but the beginning for them. I am proud of them and wish them all the best and look forward to also celebrating their achievements in future,” Korir posted on his Facebook page.
