As it happened

Real Madrid manager Arbeloa made a few changes to his lineup, with Vinicius left out due to accumulated yellow cards.

Meanwhile, for Valencia, Super Eagles star Umar Sadiq was left on the bench for the game against Real Madrid.

The first half ended in a 0-0 draw after Madrid failed to get the ball into the net despite creating several chances in the game.

In the second half, Alvaro Carreras gave the visitors the lead following a great individual effort with a nice goal.

In injury time, Brahim Diaz sprayed a pass out to Kylian Mbappe and he had an easy job to slot the ball into an empty net to make it 2-0 for Madrid.

Following the final whistle, Real Madrid secured the victory, extending their winning streak in La Liga to six games in a row.
