Richardson wasn’t the only one in the spotlight as her boyfriend Christian Coleman also fell short in the men’s 100m at the same event.

The former World Champion, who has suffered defeats at the Xiamen and Shanghai Diamond Leagues, failed to secure his first win of the season, finishing third with a time of 10.11 seconds.

Japan’s Hiroki Yanagita won the race in 10.06 seconds, edging out American Christian Miller, who came in second at 10.08 seconds.

They are also expected to compete at the USATF Outdoor Championships from July 31 to August 3.

The event is expected to be a key tune-up event ahead of the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, where Richardson will aim to defend her 100m title and Coleman will seek to reclaim his sprint crown against top rivals like Noah Lyles and Kishane Thompson.
