Richest clubs in the world 2026: Arsenal overtake Man United, drop out of top 5 as Real Madrid retain top spot
The Red Devils have struggled in the last few years with their in-field performance, failing to challenge for the big trophies in Europe.
They missed out on the 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League campaign, which has been part of what has affected their revenues.
The Red Devils dropped to eighth place in the richest clubs' financial ranking recently released after a challenging season.
Arsenal surpass Man United
For the 29 years Deloitte has published its financial rankings, Manchester United has consistently been among the world's wealthiest clubs.
However, recent on-field struggles have impacted their financial standing, which has seen them drop behind Arsenal.

The club now trails league leaders Real Madrid by over £300 million. The Spanish giants retained their top spot for a second consecutive year, generating a staggering £1.01 billion in revenue.
The Premier League is well-represented in the top ten, with six clubs making the list. Liverpool leads the English contingent, earning £729 million.
Manchester City follows closely with £723 million in total revenue and Arsenal also have £717 million in total revenue.
United finds themselves behind both of their fiercest rivals, having dropped four places from fourth last year.
Concerns for United may grow, as their £166 million in matchday revenue is expected to decrease following early domestic cup exits and a lack of European fixtures this season.
Only Tottenham (£587 million) and Chelsea (£510 million) rank lower among the Premier League's top earners.
