After a muted celebration against Çaykur Rizespor, some fans began wondering whether the Nigerian striker is truly content, or simply hiding frustration beneath the surface.

Frustration over service raises eyebrows

Osimhen scored Galatasaray’s third goal against Rizespor with a brilliant finish from a tight angle. Usually known for explosive celebrations, this time he offered only a brief smile as teammates surrounded him. The moment quickly went viral, with supporters suggesting something was not right behind the scenes.

According to reports in Turkish media, the striker’s concern centres on the service he receives during matches.

Club sources were quoted as saying: “Osimhen wants to score in every match and be useful to the team. Sometimes he doesn't receive the passes he wants, and this negatively affects him on the field.

“Osimhen's ambition and desire to score goals don't negatively impact the team. On the contrary, his teammates are positively influenced by his ambition.”

The report dismissed any financial issues, insisting the former Napoli forward is being paid properly and has no dispute with the club over money.

The situation has drawn comparisons with an incident during Nigeria’s 4-0 AFCON win over Mozambique.

After making a run that went unnoticed, Osimhen was seen throwing his arms up in frustration and squaring up to teammate Ademola Lookman, with lip-readers suggesting he said, “It’s a team sport,” before signalling to the bench for a substitution.

On that occasion, Osimhen was widely criticised with calls even coming for him to be benched in Nigeria’s next match against Algeria.

Yet any talk of selfishness have been quickly countered in Galatasaray’s dominant 5-1 win over Eyupspor. While Mauro Icardi grabbed a hat-trick, Osimhen delivered a creative masterclass, registering two assists and creating two big chances.
