Galatasaray have reportedly placed an €80 million release clause on Victor Osimhen as interest from Barcelona begins to intensify. The Super Eagles striker, who only joined the Turkish champions last summer, has quickly become the face of the club, and prising him away will not come cheap.

Osimhen recently reached the milestone of 200 career goals and has continued his prolific form in Istanbul, attracting attention from some of Europe’s biggest sides.

Barcelona line up Osimhen as Lewandowski successor

According to Turkish outlet Haberlisin, Barcelona have identified Osimhen as a major summer transfer target.

The Catalan giants are planning for the future, with current first-choice striker Robert Lewandowski set to turn 38 in August. Ferran Torres, meanwhile, is not viewed as a long-term solution to lead the line.

Osimhen’s profile fits what Barcelona are seeking — a proven, high-level goalscorer capable of spearheading their next era. The 27-year-old has scored 15 goals and provided one assist in 21 appearances across all competitions this season, including six goals in the UEFA Champions League.

His consistency over the past four years has cemented his status as one of the most reliable strikers in world football.

Galatasaray demand €80 million for their star man

Despite Barcelona’s interest, Galatasaray are in no rush to sell. The Turkish giants paid a record €75 million to secure Osimhen permanently and are determined to maximize any potential return.

As a result, they have reportedly set his price at €80 million.

While Barcelona remain one of football’s biggest names, their well-documented financial challenges could complicate any deal. Still, the Spanish side have managed several high-value transfers in recent seasons.

For Osimhen, who earns a Turkish-record salary and enjoys life in Istanbul, a move to one of Europe’s top five leagues could still prove tempting, but only if Barcelona are willing to meet Galatasaray’s firm valuation.
