Mohamed Salah is expected to be left out of Liverpool's squad for their Champions League match against Inter on Tuesday, though a final decision is still pending.

The decision will reportedly be made by sporting director Richard Hughes in consultation with the club's ownership, a move that would signal strong backing for head coach Arne Slot.

This development follows Salah's explosive comments on Saturday, where he claimed to feel "thrown under the bus" by the club and revealed a breakdown in his relationship with Slot.

The 33-year-old forward, who trained with the team on Monday, made the remarks after being an unused substitute in the draw against Leeds United—the third consecutive match he has started on the bench.

Liverpool Still Committed to Salah

Salah hinted at a possible January departure from Anfield, suggesting he has been made a scapegoat for Liverpool's recent struggles and stating, "someone does not want me in the club."

As per The Athletic, Liverpool sources insist that excluding Salah from the Inter trip is not a disciplinary measure but an isolated decision. It is not expected to influence his selection for future matches, including the upcoming Premier League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

The club maintains its full commitment to Salah and his contract, which extends to 2027, viewing the current friction as a temporary issue that can be resolved. Liverpool are reportedly not planning for the forward's exit or seeking replacements in the January transfer window.

Speaking on Saturday, Salah elaborated on his strained relationship with the manager. "I said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager, and all of a sudden, we don’t have any relationship," he said. "I don’t know why, but it seems to me... that someone doesn’t want me in the club."

What Did Egyptian Forward Say?

Last season, the Egyptian star was instrumental in Liverpool's Premier League title win, contributing 34 goals and 23 assists across all competitions before signing a two-year contract extension.

When asked if he regretted signing the new deal in April instead of leaving as a free agent, Salah expressed his disappointment. "Imagine how bad that I have to answer it, honestly. That hurts, even the question hurts," he responded.

"This club, signing for this club, I will never regret it. I thought I was going to renew here and end my career here, but this is not according to the plan."

Salah is scheduled to join the Egyptian national team in Morocco on December 15 for the Africa Cup of Nations.
