Focus on Miramar Invitational: Julien Alfred, Shericka Jackson, and Amber Anning set for epic 300m showdown
The women's 300m event at the Miramar Invitational in Florida on April 5th, is set to be a spectacle for fans as sprint queens Julien Alfred, Shericka Jackson, and Amber Anning are scheduled to compete for the first time.
Paris Olympic 100m champion Alfred will officially kick off her outdoor season in an individual event and is a top favourite to snatch the needed, following her sub-50s split in the 400m at the Texas Relays last weekend.
Jamaican sprint queen Jackson will be gunning to bounce back to winning ways against the stacked field, having had an injury-plagued period in the past year and is just racing back to her best form.
While Great Britain's Anning won't be a pushover and will aim to prove her world indoor 400m title in Nanjing three weeks ago was no fluke and she's ready to rub shoulder and beat the big guns in any event.
Other names listed in the star-studded field are Olympic finalists Sada Williams (400m specialist from Barbados) and Ivorian rising sensation Jessika Gbai. Canada's Alyssa Marsh and USA's Makenzie Dunmore complete the field.
