Dubem Nwachukwu finishes second at a professional meet in Italy

Nigeria's fastest quarter-miler this season, Dubem Nwachukwu was impressive in his 400m race at the Meeting Citta' Di Padova meet in Italy.

Nwachukwu finished second in a time of 45.95s as Inaki Canal won in 45.57s, while Baboloki Thebe was third in 46.00s.

The talented youngsters performance is his first since the World Championships in Budapest, where he qualified for the men's 400m semifinals and was part of the mixed 4x400m relay team in the qualifying heats.

He was a standout college athlete for Arizona State University this season, and decided to switch nationality from the USA to donning the Nigerian colours.
