This has led to frequent requests for selfies and autographs, prompting organisers to implement additional security measures.

The Swiss national team explained the decision to provide additional security for popular player Alisha Lehmann at the 2025 European Championship ahead of their quarter-final clash with Spain.

Swiss team spokesperson Sven Mikoz told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, via Sportal, "Player safety is always our top priority, regardless of the venue.

"During the tournament, security is UEFA's responsibility, but our security chief is always present, especially after matches when players interact with fans. Due to Alisha's popularity, she often receives a personal security detail."

Lehmann, who currently plays for Juventus, may not be the most technically gifted player on the Swiss team, but she's certainly the most recognisable and not just among women's soccer fans. She hopes to get more playing time against Spain.
