Rwanda's 1-0 victory over Lesotho at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday night gave them the lead in Group C of the CAF 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers this week.

At the Moses Mabhida Stadium, the first ten minutes of play were well-balanced, but Lesotho had the advantage in terms of ball possession.

After the 20-minute mark, Amavubi became more involved in the game and gained momentum in their attacking plays.

As the half-hour mark approached, the score stayed at 0-0, and Lesotho was given a few set-plays inside the Rwandan half.

Rwanda frequently found themselves in the Lesotho quarters without restraining back, but to very little avail.

As soon as Jodea Kwizera's name appeared on the scoresheet, Rwanda claimed the lead.

Fitina Omborenga, the right defender, found the Kwizera with a squared pass on the edge of the six-yard area after some deft interplay on the right side of the box. The Kwizera finished calmly with his left foot.

Amavubi continued to attack ten minutes after the restart, looking dangerous in the open parts of the pitch.

Lesotho discovered that they had to pack their box in an effort to repel Rwanda's assaults.

As the 75th minute drew near, Lesotho's energy was running low due to their ineffective attacks that did not compromise Rwanda's defense.

At the Moses Mabhida Stadium, the game dwindled as the ninetieth minute approached because neither team was able to take advantage of their chances to score goals.

However, Kwizera's performance was sufficient for Amavubi to win the game and climb to the top of Group C.
