Nigeria Rugby name 26 events for 2023

Delta and Lagos State will host NRFF's events in 2023.

The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) has released its calendar for the year and named twenty-six events for 2023.

The federation will start with the world Anti-doping Agency Course and First Aid in Rugby Level 1 Training Course.

The National Youth Games Rugby 7s (Boys and Girls U15) to be hosted by Delta State between February 8-18 and a Board Meeting.

Abuja will host the World Rugby Coaches Match Officials and Medical Training Course, followed by the National Rugby 7s tournament and the NRFF Annual General Meeting (AGM) billed for Delta State in March.

The National U15s Super League Season (Southern Nigeria) scheduled for April, while Togo will host the Africa Rugby 7s Pre-qualifier (Men and Women national team) in the same month.

The Camping for West Africa four Nations Tournament, West Africa four Nations Tournament (Nigeria, Ghana and Ivory Coast, Togo) and Board Meeting, as the National 15s Super League Season [Northern Nigeria], kicks off too slated for June in Lagos.

The Nigerian rugby league have been ranked number one in Nigeria and moved up from 28th to 24th in the world by the International Rugby League, the IRL WORLD rankings.

South Africa climbed to the 25th spot from 30th while Ghana rose five positions, from 31st to 26th to ranked second and third respectively in Africa.

The International Rugby lifted the ban placed on Nigeria last year over internal crises.
